Portable game system question...

I'm thinking of wast^H^H^H^Hspending some money on a portable game system. Looking at what games I'm more interested in, the Nintendo DS is the most attractive. But I don't rush into these decisions. What does everyone think?

I enjoyed playing with my son's

Not that I spent more than a couple of minutes, but I was blown away by the quality of the graphics and game play.

Too bad he turned it into a brick screwing around with it.

My kids love DS

there are plenty of games and I like the fact you can charge the sucker up...sure saves money on batteries. There is also the wireless feature that allows you to connect with other DS players...very cool.

DS has my vote.

Whup - I bought one.

I'm still amazed at how small it is. I got Spyro: Shadow Legacy at the time, which is cute and not too demanding, and just today I splurged on New Super Mario Brothers - and that is retro-revived done *so damn well*. I never got into Mario back when, not ever having a NES or anything like that. But who says you can't go back in time? The evening train journey is never going to be the same again!
