Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Better late than never
Hi.

You have a typo on your web site.

I'm pretty sure you don't want me to add you to my "thrusted" site.
Not that I'd add you to trusted, either, especially since I'm running Firefox under Linux (no active-x here), but what the hell, I figure I'd tell you.

How'd you end up here?

Oh well, my site justh changed and I am sure ith's sthill full of thypos. I justh ain'th goth thhe thime. :-) But thanks for the gesture!
Yeah, ActiveX, that's what the Flash plugin is called in IE. Sorry to the FF users (including myself :-) ).

How'd you end up here?

I am not even sure what "here" means, just found this question via Google and was in a good mood to post some solution I found before (when looking and not finding it).

New "Here"
Valid point.

Our little corner of cyberspace.

Mostly tech focused guys with occasional rants all over the place. A couple of women, not real techie but at least competent users. Except sluggie, who puts most of us to shame on the tech side.

Physically hosted somewhere in the mid-west USA, run by our Admin as a labor of love (god know he ain't gettin paid for it), with about (hmm) 2 dozen regular posters, and probably hundreds of lurkers.

Unix/Linux geeks for the most part, with 1 hard core Windows person. Laptop/Desktop of choice is typically a Mac, but most of us deal with a bunch of stuff professionally. I prefer Linux/KDE on the desktop, my Mac laptop is gathering dust, and my VMWare ESX box runs most of my world. I rdesktop in a Win2.3K server on it for my Win desktop.

Democrat/Liberal leaning (or so it seems), but with a few right wing devil's advocates, and at least 1 absolute whack job.

Most of the regulars have met face to face, and some of us have travelled across the world (England, Australia) to the US for it.

And you? What's your story (if you care to share)?
New Am I the 1 hardcore Windows person?
If not, I'm #2.. :)

Brenda

New Sorry, no
Nor are you #2 or in the count at all.
You are a non-tech semi competent user.
You are also crazy, yet somewhat entertaining.
Usually like watching a slow-mo train wreck.
New I also use vi. ;)
Edit: Changed VI to vi lowercase. ;)

New I was waiting for you to step in
Like she knows what a DC is.
And is the term even used anymore with ADS, or was it previously PDC and BDC, and now it is just DC?

New oh...oh...oh
Very good
New Thank yew, thank yew verah muuuuuch

New It was the "hardcore" thing.
ADS = DC
NT domains = PDC/BDC

In ADS DCs are all equal, although there is the FSMO consideration.

New Nope, I'm not on a network
I have no need for a domain controller, primary or otherwise. ;)

New You could up the "hard core Windows person" count to 2 or 3.
PeeWee, Andrea Dear, Altmann... Which one of them was your "1"? Just wondering.

And yeah, Brenda babe, you're not really "hard core" anything AFAICS. Owlets are far too soft for that. :-)

New Nope
Mere knowledge of it does not make someone hardcore.
In most cases, the more knowledge leans people to disliking it more.
I only consider blind allegiance no matter what to be "hardcore", and I only know of one person here that fits that description.
New Hardclaw. ;)
