New Tick tick tick
So I've got a vmware instance of a core Linux box.
Wanna do a disk backup.
But I didn't buy the online backup option, so it's gotta be cold or I gotta really work at it. Screw it, let it be cold.
So I shutdown, and try to clone the disk, only to be told it's not really a disk file.
Hmmm. Seems like I've got a snaphot on this from eons ago that I forgot about, and I should probably commit it before cloning.
So I pointy clicky into the interface, tell it to drop/commit all snapshots, say I'm sure, and wait.
Percentages zip by, move to 95% really damn fast.
And then it stops.
I THINK it's doing something since the timestamp of the main disk file changes every couple of minutes, but that's it.
No clue on how long I'll be waiting.
It's an 80GB file with a 57GB delta file it is applying.
Local SCSI disk RAID 5 storage.
Any idea how long?
