Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. fell near his summer home in Maine today and was taken to an area hospital as a precaution, a Supreme Court spokeswoman said.
Roberts, 52, took a fall near his home in Port Clyde, Maine, said Kathleen Landin Arberg.
She had no further details about the severity of the injury, but said Roberts was conscious and taken to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
Jim Lehrer on the PBS NewsHour ending summary said that Roberts had had a seizure, but I've seen nothing in print about that.
[edit:] He apparently had a similar incident in 1993. The NY Times has [link|http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/washington/AP-Scotus-Roberts3.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin|more].
He "picked" a good time to have a medical issue since the Court won't be in session again until October.
Cheers,
Scott.
