The best part of the leadership of President Bush involves his unflinching, fiercely realistic focus on achievable goals, and his consistent warnings against expectation of quick, painless victory. :) And we've lost track of ObL and have gotten involved in rebuilding Afghanistan........ That doesn't meet my definition of "fiercely realistic focus", but....whatever. You can find terrorists from wealthy families. You can find terrorists from poor families. Poverty is a factor in some instances, but not all. The thing I find interesting in this piece (what is the nationality of the author?) is that he dismisses Al's attempt to focus on CAUSES. To clarify this, if the root cause of some terrorism is religous fundamentalism, then killing people AFTER they've become terrorists is going to be a never-ending career. Whereas, dealing with the root causes will (theoretically) result in fewer people becoming terrorists.
