Peter, you remember our little discussion about network speed?

Well, I just downloaded a 20MB file from homepage.ntlworld.com and got a grand total of 220KB/sec.

Pretty much matches results from that server, you experienced.

I've also D/Ld stuff from download.mirror.ac.uk cranked at nearly 850KB/sec. Which is about as fast as I can get OUTSIDE of Comcast with exception of Giganews. These results pretty much jam the "transatlantic" shaping going on.

From Giganews (news.giganews.com) I've regularly approached and sometimes hit the max my SB3100 or about 1600KB/sec.

I believe the 20Mbit you have is a sham. I'd like to see you actually get the MAX of about 2500KB/sec you should be getting. It is really to bad, you'll never get it outside the NTL network... if even then.

BTW, both routes for me are through New York Level3.net to London Level3.net. Traffic goes through cw.net connectors for homepage.ntlworld.com. Traffic goes through ja.net connectors for download.mirrors.ac.uk
