New I am not understanding Freenet
unless it downloads files from Freenet and then caches them on your hardrive and accesses them from the TCP/IP loopback address? Can someone clue me in? I'd use a quarter to buy a clue, but I didn't get my paycheck yet.

Freenet uses a proxy on the local server to offer a web interface. Hence the local address.

If you haven't got Freenet, you haven't got the proxy, so don't worry about it.
