New Gamma rays are scary stuff
Under just the right conditions, it is speculated that one stupid star can blast off enuf gamma radiation to fry *every* planet in a Galaxy, or at least every one in the primary gamma ray jet path thru the galaxy.

Thus, a star on the *opposite* side of our sun in the Milky Way can blow its top way over there and cook us all.

Amazing. Now that would make an interesting Trek movie: Hypernovea Terrorists. Then again, it would likely take hundreds or thousands of years for the the radiation to travel to its destination. But, reality never stopped the writers before.

The Romulans could set off Beetlejiuce, for example. It is nearly ready to blow anyhow I hear.

No homo-sap type carbon units will ever be allowed anywhere near the Source code! Just too inherently flaky and destructive to let outta the crib..
