We *did* have Cuba and the Phillipines for a while. Not sure if the wars against the bloodthirsty injuns count.

(BTW, while we did commit atrocities against them - the Cherokee nation and the trail of tears comes to mind - they were far less the noble savages than as have recently been politically correctly portrayed.)
