New WTF is this?
[link|http://biz.yahoo.com/seekingalpha/070507/34712_id.htm|Yahoo]:
Dell says it's on board with the Microsoft and Novell Linux partnership. As part of the deal, Dell will buy SUSE Linux Enterprise Server certificates from Microsoft. It will also launch a services and marketing program to woo existing Linux users who are not Dell customers to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
My emphasis.

Novell sure gave Microsoft an opening to muddle Linux IP.

New Well, there's been speculation . . .
. . that Microsoft bought a lot of certificates from Novell as part of the deal and are stuck with them. They are trying to unload them by undercutting Novell's price. Dell has just agreed to buy from the lowest price vendor should they happen to find a customer that wants any.

As far as anyone can tell the "customer demand" that "resulted in this deal" has not materialized.

New You mean Novell stuck it to MS in a deal?
Only one word on that.

New "Good" - except MS found a way to turn it around using Dell.
New Well, they did if Dell actually gets anyone to buy them.
