The trouble with any such surveys now - no way to tell how many Googled the matter, furtively.. shame being an unknown emotion.

Hmmm - Ask google to tabulate enquiries:

"Er, does the sun go around the earth?"

Oh and.. as to the neutron-star density of the collective-IQ - more than 50 yrs back, was when I heard the first utterance.. "petroleum is far too valuable, irreplaceable a source of materials -- to burn most of it as fuel."
