Welcome to IWETHEY!

New you have a linux/unix box floating around?
have the windows printer use its lpr feature to send the print job to a linux/unix box, Setup the linux/unix box to print to a file. Or if the app supports it just print directly to linux/unix.
thanx,
bill

New The solution to ANY Windows problem is always LI/UNIX :-)
You sound like me saying that tables and/or Xbase is the solution to everything. If I am a good boy, Heaven IT will be based on XbaOS.

I think I'll bite the commercial bullet and look into the Print Distributor 30-day-trial. Thanks guys for the suggestions.

New not really, its because I have done that before
had old dos 3.1 equipment that sent reports to a line printer. I needed to turn those into snmp traps for an alarm system. So I "printed" them to NT which forwarded via lpr to a sun box. The sun printing subsystem is/was actually a shell script that formatted the print job so instead of sending it to a real printer I wrapped the message into an snmp trap and sent it to the alarm system. Would have been just as easy to copy it to a file called file`date` which would have timestamped the filename to make them individual.
thanx,
bill
