I use it because I had font issues with the offical OpenOffice version that runs under X11 were I'd either see the font on screen, but not on printouts - or not see a font on screen but it would print just fine.

I also couldn't get the official version to print to my printer. I had to print to a PDF, then open and print the PDF. This was a minor issue compared to funky fonts.
