but remember when you're talking PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) IP (Ethernet) camera you're getting quite a bit, too. And industrial quality (tough exterior for outdoors) adds more, too.

IIRC, staring prices for Japanese PTZ (Hitachi, Sony, etc) with say 16x zoom is $1000.
