In a completely unrelated development[1], we were discussing getting a test QA server for one app, and the systems guy was talking about $50k for one Solaris box. For one app. That is projected to support 55 concurrent internal users. I couldn't help thinking, "Dude, if this app needs a $50k server, we shouldn't be installing it."
