New We're installing Linux in the data center
One of the top 10 banks in the U.S., and we're starting to replace other Unixes. All new applicaions targeting Unix will be tried on Linux first. Existing applications are being re-deployed where possible.

In a completely unrelated development[1], we were discussing getting a test QA server for one app, and the systems guy was talking about $50k for one Solaris box. For one app. That is projected to support 55 concurrent internal users. I couldn't help thinking, "Dude, if this app needs a $50k server, we shouldn't be installing it."
