Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Dunno. The gravity well is pretty big.
Presumably if someone has the technology to come here, and they want resources, then it might be advantageous to go to Mars (lots of land and even water in polar ice). It's much easier to come and go there than here on Earth.

Plus, there are fewer microbes and stuff that might be hazardous to their biology, as H.G. Wells's creations discovered. And even oxygen is pretty [link|http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2004-04/nsf-oha042004.php|hazardous to living things that haven't found ways to adjust to its presence].

Just some idle musings...

Cheers,
Scott.
New Blow up the planet.
Raw resources for constructing more berserkers.
Eliminates a possible competitor for resources.
Odoru aho ni miru aho!
Onaji aho nara odoranya son son!
New If that's the case...
...then we'll just have to make sure that Ender is prepared.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
- Benjamin Franklin, 1759 Historical Review of Pennsylvania
New Here is better, though.
Because we have a magnetic field, all that pesky annoying radiation that, on Mars, you'd have to shield for is taken care of.
