For a life I'd like to have, yes

Having no other car, and working at a place that would take 2 hours to get to via public transportation (vs. 20 minutes by car), I needed to rent a car for a few days.

I've seen articles profiling people who do just that -- two hours each way on public transportation -- to get to minimum-wage jobs. Does anyone really wonder why they can't dig out of that hole?
