New Firefox problem on Ubuntu
I've been getting strange error messages starting this morning:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: chrome://mozapps/content/downloads/unknownContentType.xul
Line Number 1, Column 1:{
^

when I try to access extensions or plugins. I was attempting to get firefox set up so I can see flash and video the same way I can in windows. This seems to be a new development. Anybody seen this before or have suggestions?

Thanks,
Hugh
New Yes, I've seen it
It's usually after an upgrade, when someone has broken something. I never solved it, other than waiting a few days for the next upgrade to fix it.

New Ok, thanks. I'll hang in, then.
New Usually the new version of
Firefox introduces some fixes for a bug or exploit or DoS or something. Meaning that extensions and plug-ins are borked untill the maintainers fix it.

It is just a matter of waiting, like Drew said.

It might behoove you to re-install all of your extensions from mozdev. The act of re-installing the extensions actually are as good as re-move and re-install now. The xpi setup is pretty cool.

One extension that always break for me is "Image Zoom", in fact... I believe that is the exact stuff that comes up when it is broke. For a while it was so bad I had to remove it and wait for a couple of revisions to go by, because the maintainer wouldn't fix the problem as it was a toughy... so he applied band-aids which didn't work.

Good luck on you quest... Ernesto! (1)

(1) == Yes, I know your name is not Ernesto.
