New Strange Brew reference
they claimed to have found a mouse in the beer.

This is a quality control issue. Most soda and beer cans are turned upside down and then shot with a blast of air to clean them and make sure they are empty. Somehow when that can got flipped back arround, in the seconds it took before the beer was added and the top sealed on it, a fish got into the can, How? I dunno. But they owe you a refund and possibly need to review their quality control process.

New Oh, they owe me nothing.
That fish fell into my mug of beer in my own freezer when I removed a hunk of frozen pork stock. That motion disturbed a package of salt dried Philippine herring which was open at one end and one herring got away, falling into the beer mug.

The package of herring was so positioned it was pretty much invisible so it took me a few minutes to figure out how this fish got into the beer.

It is a bit startling though to lift a mug of beer to your lips and notice there's a fish in it.

New Scary indeed
but I am glad you figured it out. The canning process has been perfected almost since the 1980's when Pepsi was accused of putting medical needles in their cans. They are turned upside down and a shot of air is blasted into them to make sure they are clean and empty.
