New Another Mersenne Prime?
[link|http://mathworld.wolfram.com/news/2006-09-04/mersenne-44/|44th Mersenne Prime (Probably) Discovered]. Mersenne primes are of the form M=2n-1, but given the size of these numbers I'm not sure that really provides much of a shortcut to locating the largest primes.

I have this idea for the finding of the first Mersenne Triple Number, awaiting only the finding of the next ~11 singletons; alas, my margins Are large enough to contain the calculations.. but isn't the most fun when - you Find Out but don't tell anyone?
