New Native Open Office?
[link|http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/08/30/aqua_openoffice_goes_public/|Mac OS X-friendly OpenOffice to go public next month]
A version of OpenOffice that will run natively under Mac OS X's Aqua user interface will be demo'd in public at Apple Expo Paris next month, the team behind the software have revealed.

I thought maybe they meant NeoOffice, but found [link|http://trinity.neooffice.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3134|this] in the NeoOffice forums.

We're well aware of the other port, just as they're well aware of NeoOffice. You can find some discussion of it in the "Random Whatnot" forum (and some trolling/ranting in the appropriate forum for that, too).

I started out with OpenOffice in the past as X11 isn't a problem for me; however, I switched over to NeoOffice due to printing and font issues. The printing issue was minor as I could generate a PDF then print the PDF. The font issue was pretty major - fonts would either print OK or show up on the screen OK, but only a few worked correctly for both.

New I use NeoOffice as well

The printing issue with OO was a pain. However, I now keep my gradebooks in NO and I wrote my textbook in it as well.

Once you get past the startup, it's fast and stable.

That being said, I'm looking forward to a native (non-Java) version. Thanks for the tip!

New I owe you a dress down of that text book yet.
Things went from OK to Worser than hell, I am sorry I haven't done the review.

Now it is part of my todo list. What...you say. Main screen turn on, add to Greg's todo list.

Yes, I now officially have one. And no, nothing public about it thank you very much.

Just that, I used to keep everything in a mental todo list and I swapped out that "mental" thing.

Seems wierd, I am using tomboy as a not taking thing.

I'll get back to that text book of yours.

New Not a problem

I've got some notes for a second edition which I'm planning to get to Any Day Now(tm)

Just get yourself through the rough patches, try to stay healthy and we'll be here when you're ready.
