New CLR Power Plumber

This stuff is amazing.

I have an old fashioned pedestal sink in my bathroom. My daughter dropped a tooth brush down the drain. A good part of Saturday was spent disassembling the trap, retrieving the toothbrush, reassembling the pipes and sealing the leak I created, only to find that the drain was still clogged. I went out and bought some liquid drain cleaner. Did 2 applications. Sink was still clogged. I did a fair amount of swearing at that point.

Today I went back to the hardware store and picked up a snake and CLR Power Plumber. What the heck, I thought. I'll give it a try. Basically, this thing is just a can of compressed air with a gasket on top that fits the drain. You turn the can upside-down, fit the gasket on the drain, and push down on the can for one second while the air in the can blows down into the drain. I followed directions. ONE SECOND and the drain gave a mighty gurgle and swooossshh! Fixed.
Color me impressed.
New Ya, it's a great idea -
A similar approach is, an adaptor for a garden hose-end (then you need to plug the air-breather slots in the sink, as in in both cases.) Having high house water pressure is a definite Plus.

I've used that, sans the 'adaptor' == any old rag for a gasket.
When pissed off, one uses Anything at hand..
