Because of the latest Windows virus. Seems they're worried that the virus will get emailed to some of the UNIX boxen... and.. well, I've not quite gotten an answer to what, but somehow, there's "propagate and spread".
So the firewall and router guys have gone through all the routers (around the US) and chopped (just about) everything off.
The virus wasn't a Denial of Service, but... If you jump off the network... does that mean you win and not being denied service?
