I'm not trying to be flippant or trite.
Starting a new enterprise is very, very difficult. Keeping it going is harder.
Too many regard IT as a cost with very little benefit. Stories like [link|http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/17/AR2006081701485.html|this] only reinforce that view.
Who's your customer?
Would you be willing to do what they want even if you know that it's not the best choice for them?
It's safest to start small and let a new business grow organically. Remember how [link|http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/abouthp/histnfacts/garage/partner.html|HP] started. Don't let costs rise too quickly or you'll never get ahead.
Don't get discouraged. Keep working on your plan and find that crucial ingredient - the customer - while also networking and keeping people informed of your dreams to build up the other pieces you'll need.
:-)
Hang in there.
Cheers,
Scott.
