I grant that the military arm of Hez ought not to exist. I grant that the Lebanese government has been overly tolerant of this shit. I grant that firing rockets into Israel is wrong, that Hez is bad, that THEY started it.

It seems a diplomatic solution via UN, USA, UK, economic sanctions, etc ought to have been tried first. The solution to this is to make clear to Lebanon that they will be ostracized and denied their iPods if they persist in shooting unauthorized fireworks over the neighbor's fence.

However, rather than call up the neighbor and letting him know that you are going to call the cops, instead Israel decides to set his wife's car on fire. Real sensible. Can you say ESCALATION?
