No power until late Thursday for my house.
Losing the freezer contents, the fridge contents (already).
Sure am glad homeowners takes care of that.
Had a wicked storm go through ~1AM last night. It was a band of east-west going south-east-ish.
Winds, Lightning, Thunder and RAIN.
Good ole Consumers Energy, slow as ever, not able to fix something that should only take 20 minutes total... in under 3 hours. Second time this year... been a few years since they replaced the whole blow-off disconnect. Looks like it won't be this time either.
Should have said 200K people without electric, all small/cheap generators are gone. Dry ice is all bought out and nearly all of the Ice Sellers are out of good ice... and many are without power as well.

Anyplace you can pick up some dry ice?
Might be able to save the freezer contents.

Condolences
But there's a down-side to the generators..
That is, eons back when the bigge fludde struck these parts, and we got the last rental generator anywhere near ... it was NOISY as a garage band whose players had already gone deaf. And - that sucker had to be fed
[adding gas when the tank is very near a hot engine, while groggy - priceless]
Flip coin, whose turn at 4am.
(Can let the fridge go some hours, but best not 8-hours, repeatedly.)
I mean - when all the lobsters are insured, it's worth kissing it off.. for the sleep!
Just another angle.

I forgot to say: THEY LIED!
4:30PM Power was restored.
Evidently, they figured our street was a 10-20 minute fix, doing the slipstreaming they are now doing during "events". So on the way to fix another, being so close to the truck dispatch center, they fixxorzed ~ 4:30PM
GAH. Pleased but GAH!
