Keyboard is bad enough. Problem with a laptop is most of the guts are directly under it.

For a standard keyboard, my fix would be to immediately disconnect the device (current will make any problems worse), disassemble it, and wash the whole kit 'n' caboodle. You can use ordinary diswashing liquid on the keys, springs, plastic sheets, and chassis (I've done this, JenneyCam documents the process photographically).

For a laptop, I'd immediately shutdown (hard, no power-down), remove the power cord and battery, and contact the vendor or manufacturer for more details. I suspect their "repair" is actually going to be a wholesale component replacement.
