If it's not a bad spot on the floppy (something like Scandisk or Chkdsk should be able to tell whether the floppy is OK), then perhaps the file is corrupted.

If so, perhaps the file was corrupted somehow as a result of Word's "Fast Save" option. If that's turned off, I don't know what to suggest. If it's not turned off:

Tools -> Options - >Save
Make sure "Allow fast saves" is NOT checked.

If FS was turned on, have her load the document in Word (from another source if possible) and save it with FS turned off. Maybe that'll solve the problem.

But I suspect it's a bad spot on the floppy.
