New Speaking of young ones gaming...
...my daughter has been asking me for stuff on how to make games. I've been hesitant to supply any of the material I've come across, since I don't think she wants to delve into a programming language at this point. I'm thinking that what she really wants is software where she can design levels to her own liking (otherwise, I'd probably point her to Logo).

Anyone know of some good game design software. I recall a level designer for doom many moons ago, but even that was fairly crude.
New How old is she?
Maybe pick up an Commodore or something? I started with the BASIC on a Commodore PET.

New A perfect 10
She has done html and graphics work (no programming thus far). Could drag out my Amiga, but then I'd probably start playing all the games I haven't touched in 10 years.
New There's a thing called "Gamemaker"
Runs on Windows, and uses a BASIC-like language with special game APIs and a GUI designer. My son used it for a while, and it seemed fairly easy to deal with.
