New YAN Ubuntu question
I have ubuntu 6.06 with the KDE stuff added. I went through the upgrade process from whatever the previous version was and it was painless and nifty. The problem I ran into is that I switched the monitor to a flat screen on a KVM and the new monitor only goes to 1280X1024 @60hz. I have set the default machine settings to that, but the initial login screen remains at 1600X1200 probably at 70 something hertz. This overloads my monitor and I can't log in. If I log in with a monitor and switch to the flat screen after logging in, everything is ducky. Before I nuke this leper and start over, does anybody have any suggestions on how to change the login screen properties?

Thanks,
Hugh
New Yep.
dpkg-reconfigure debconf, answer Dialog, then answer low.

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Or you can specify the config, manually.

If you want to do it manually, I can point you at the proper docs to help out.

I do have to wonder why you would keep a live snake in your coat in Saskatoon in December.
