Here's how we usually work it:
Greg shows up at my house in the wee hours of Friday morning (like, 6ish). (Or, he shows up the night before and sleeps in the den.)
Greg finally manages to get me moving and out the door 2 hours later. Then we drive to Drew's house and offend his wife, around noon usually.
After that it's pedal-down drafting through the mountains (with judicious rumble-strip usage and shrieking to keep Drew awake). Typically we stop for dinner outside Philly and hit Bill's around 8ish pm.
And since you don't care about the return trip...

Well, it would be lovely if you could swing by
and I'll follow you out. Or if it's too much of a pain for you guys I can just show up at Bill's around 8pm. I've made that drive many times by myself so it's not that big of a deal. I bring every CD I have and sing my head off.
If something changes between then and now, though, and I can ride out with you, I will surely let you know.
Thanks, Scott. Laura

Either way.
We can go 686 to 275 past your place, or meet at the Zoo on the way down 75.

Nice that it's easy to check the parent post...:
Without some context, the description of aggressive driving and the statement "And since you don't care about the return trip..." comes off just a tiny bit weird.
It's probably just me...

Not Sopranos, one of those battle of Midway movies...
Just how the sequence came out in my mind.
Like I said, it's just me...
I need to get out of my mind more...

I'm certainly up for it.
Especially since I don't have to get my family settled in at the hotel first.

I can see it now.
IWT arrives at Monk's, settles into rear corner.
Greg: I'll have one of your finest sour beers, please. Greg: Know what? Better make it two. Waitress: I'm sorry, sir. That was a special we had last year only.
IWT leaves Monk's.

Venison? Duck?
Do they have anything green there to eat? Or am I just going to have to drink my dinner? (Assuming I'm invited. Dont want to crash your guy party or anything)

Depends...
We may even stop for dinner before we hit Philly -- usually Red Robin, which has Boca on the menu.
And yes, you're invited.

Oh come now...
You forget how Drill Instructors think. San Diego, where they issue Sunglasses, ya know. Eating Duck for dinner, as interpreted by a Drill Instructor is: - You stand Belly-Button-to-Asshole in line for Chow
- You get everything you want to eat.
- You walk to your location you will be sitting
- You Sit Down.
- You look at an smell the food, and only take a drink of your water.
- You stand up, grab your tray and water
- Proceed to the tray collection receptacle
- Dump the food you were to full to eat.
- Place the tray on the conveyor.
- Get back in formation
- When fully formed and the Drill Instructor comes out, you thank him to treating you to a Duck Meal
You Duck-in, You Duck-Out.

Best damn venison I ever had was at the White Dog Cafe
Not on the menu any more.
[link|http://www.whitedog.com/dinnermenu.html|http://www.whitedog.com/dinnermenu.html]
20 blocks from the Monks.
If we want real food, let's hit it for dinner, then end up at the Monks for a nightcap.
