Unfortunately

When I was doing it, there were a lot more inexperienced programmers doing COBOL.

Damn I'm old.

Many times, during my COBOL days,

I would have lots of debug code to catch the dreaded 'fallthrough' due to misplaced .'s.
The amount of times I had programs that would print (sorry, DISPLAY...) "THIS LINE OF CODE CAN'T POSSIBLY EXECUTE"...

What the heck - I still like the fact that one lump of data can be overlaid by different PICTUREs.

Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
