Welcome to IWETHEY!

New DOS & Samba
Today I had to brush up on my MSDOS 6.22 configuration knowledge and learn how to install the MS Client for DOS to access a Samba server from a DOS workstation and still have enough memeory left to run major DOS programs. Why me?

New That must have been fun. :-/
Nothing like brushing up on knowledge that's been obsolete since 1993. :-)

Seriously, it's great that people like you are willing to solve customers problems, no matter how obscure they may seem. Unlike what's apparently going on inside a certain [link|http://www.pbs.org/cringely/pulpit/pulpit20060518.html|3 lettered company] right now.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Yeah, and a funny on that one.
At a couple of screw machine shops I work with a machinery repair consultant. At this shop I commented on one of their antique workstations.

His reply, "Yup, its still just the way you set it up 16 years ago" - not a phrase many computer consultants get to hear these days.

New A later 386 (486 shipping in 1990)

New So did it work?
And can you remind me howot do it too. I seem to have gotten a case of CRS with this.

I have a 386, and 2 486s that are holding me up migrating away from MARS-NWE which is sorely unmaintained and won't even run statically compiled on a system that *CAN* compile it. Anything within the last 3 years hasn't been able to compile it... and yes I have tried.

Nobody packages it anymore. Fedora Core 1 was the last Distro to have it... and it didn't even run without segfaults about once an hour.

Danke.

...introduce an "if", and you're down the slippery slope. You add "for", and it's an avalanche. Then the "while" falls on you, and you're buried.
