Welcome to IWETHEY!

New observations....
....from what I could see during my last trip there, it seemed more a status symbol than a matter of being lost or a dingbat about operating instructions. I also observed that cell-phone-to-ear-itus ended after going Northward past Santa Barbara and beyond.

My $0.02
New I think he was implying . . .
. . that since women are always complaining about men refusing to ask for directions (or operating instructions), that asking for those must be what these women are doing.

New Gee, thought the sign wasn't necessary on that one!
[image|/forums/images/warning.png|0|This is sarcasm...]
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. (Herm Albright)
New No, not necessary, but....
....always enjoy seeing it. Knew you were being sarcastic.

/soapbox

The L.A. cell-phone-to-ear-constantly thing just annoys the cr*p outta me. And, I see as many men doing it as women. It causes accidents and, in general, negatively affects the flow of traffic. The worst offenders routinely run red lights or chat in the fast lane while driving very slowly. Argh!

As another sign says....."shut up and drive". My $0.02.

/soapbox off.

New Here in La Crescenta it's even worse.
Since this is an upscale Koreatown now we have swarms of tiny Asian women who can barely drive at all all peering over the dashboards of Giant Mercedes and Lexus SUVs with cell phones pressed to their ears and paying little attention to where they're going, which they can barely see anyway.

The "Soccer Mom Hour" is Hell on wheels here because the SUVs are all out in swarms with distracting kids added to the mix and all dodging mile long parades of stinking school busses.

New try atlanta
I wanted to jump out and take a picture of the first woman behind the wheel that didnt have a cell phone glued to her ear, Ive only been here a year.
thanx,
bill

New The worst I've seen was a guy reading a book

New I see both men and women reading quite often.
Most of the time they seem to be preparing for a talk, meeting or sales presentation.

Others have reported seeing many activities during rush hour, including one guy practicing the transverse flute.

"So don't pay attention to the approval ratings that say 68% of Americans disapprove of the job this man is doing. I ask you this, does that not also logically mean that 68% approve of the job he's not doing? Think about it. I haven't."

New gotta get my eyes checked, first reading was transvestite

New I don't normally commute during rush hour
So I see less craziness than I am sure most around me do.

Cheers,
Ben

New Yeah, I read on my way to work sometimes.
Of course, I'm usually walking, but hey...
When somebody asks you to trade your freedoms for security, it isn't your security they're talking about.
New This brings up cartoon images . . .
. . of a reading walker with one foot over an open manhole.

New I've been behind a guy trying to read a newspaper.
Every time he stopped, out would come the newspaper. He just didn't seem to get it.
