New Not sure if I should worry about some cron.daily output
I've got a few things in the output from my cron.daily script that I'm not sure if I should be worried about.

/etc/cron.daily/chkrootkit:
The following suspicious files and directories were found:
/usr/lib/kaffe/.system

When I saw that line in yesterday's output, I removed the kaffe package. Since I've got the Sun JRE installed, I shouldn't need it. But I've still got stuff in the /usr/lib/kaffe directory. Is that a problem?

/usr/bin/find: WARNING: Hard link count is wrong for //proc/1/task: this may be a bug in your filesystem driver. Automatically turning on find's -noleaf option. Earlier results may have failed to include directories that should have been searched.

No idea what could have caused this unless find was running while KDE was still launching, and on this ancient box it was just too busy.

eth0: PACKET SNIFFER(/usr/sbin/arpwatch[1595])

This one I'm completely clueless about.

/etc/cron.daily/man-db:
mandb: warning: /usr/share/man/man1/ControlPanel.1.gz is a dangling symlink
mandb: warning: /usr/share/man/man1/x-terminal-emulator.1.gz is a dangling symlink
mandb: warning: /usr/share/man/man1/x-window-manager.1.gz is a dangling symlink
mandb: warning: /usr/share/man/man1/gsmsiectl.1 is a dangling symlink

I suspect this is because of the manpaes-dev package I just removed. How to I tell man-db that those manpages aren't there any more?

/etc/cron.daily/mysql-server:
/etc/cron.daily/mysql-server: line 30: mysqladmin: command not found

I don't have mysql installed any more. I would have thought the remove script would have removed the entry from cron.daily. Should I just remove that by hand?

New apt-get install cruft
Might be instructive

Use P2P for legitimate purposes!
New That's the problem ... there's *already* too much cruft
But yes, I installed it. It's running now.
