Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Hey Box, stupid Solaris question
Where does FTP keep it's transfer logs?
On Linux, I find it in /var/log/xferlog, but I can't seem
to find that type of thing for Solaris.
New var/adm but it depends on the ftp server you are using
if you are using wuftpd the logging directory is set in the conf file.
thanx,
bill

New Re: var/adm but it depends on the ftp server you are using
Yeah but.

I'm using the default Solaris one, and I don't see any log
files. I even attached to an active process, and according
to the truss output, there are none.

Oh well.

I'm just trying to research previous FTP usage, which means
I'm SOL.

Thanks
New inetd.conf edit the in.ftpd line ftpd -dl will turn on logs
man ftpd
thanx,
bill

New Hmm, syslog only?
Is there anyway to tell it to use a different log file?
I think I see another FTPD in my future!
New play with /etc/syslog.conf :)
