GET RID OF register.BOMB
I am sorry, but I called Register.com today and they said they were having technical difficulties. A Corrupt domainname DB in their Billing System!!!!!
They just have to get it to "reset" all the ka-jillions of records now. Some of the records are fine, they do not know the cause of the problem, but just they are fixing it.
AHHHHHHH!
<reminder_to_self> NEVER USE REGISTER.COM or NSI! </reminder_to_self>

Superfluous redundancy
That is, if you can read this - you don't need the info - but you might if one box works an t'other didn't: As Karsten pointed out on maillist: DNS queries for "iwethey.org" and "z.iwethey.org" fail. Both sites are hosted from 65.85.143.144. However, plugging that IP into your browser directly won't work as this brings up the default website (darkwind.org).
To fix the issue, you need to edit
Linux/Unix: /etc/hosts or Windows 95/98 -- unconfirmed: C:\\Windows\\Hosts or Windows NT/2000/XP: c:\\winnt\\system32\\drivers\\etc\\hosts and add the following line:
65.85.143.144 z.iwethey.org iwethey.org If you're using proxy servers (Junkbuster, Squid, etc.) you'll have to edit the hosts file on this system as well, and possibly restart your proxy (this is required for Squid). This info for those of us for whom the arcane is not a daily indigestible and often illegible, but always annoying necessity .A. PS - confirmed re W98 hosts file entry - just one name (z.iwethey) no workee. WW didn't need massaging beyond this - if WW is your proxy. Gotta log off/on ISP, for TCP to wise up. Ahh.. we take these intensely dumb and punctilious serial processes for granted.. until one little *&$(@ ; gets lost.

That wasn't the problem, according to Jason.
Our registration ran out, and all the notices were sent to Jason's now defunct @home email address.

Payment?
Did you want someone else to fund the renewal? (If so, how?)

Coolio...
Maybe I won't have to boycott register.com then... They still have some problems according to a follow-up phone call to the contact from early yesterday. Course I guess I must have caught somone off-guard and just asked about a "suspected" problem, which turned out to be real.
At least we still got it. If we need funds to make it longer lemme know.
