Welcome to IWETHEY!

New MS is threatening to release Origami
Which looks a bit like a Newton clone to me. (In fact, the original Newton architect went to MS when the Newton was killed).

New Well, they got the advertizing part of the project done...
... and that's always the toughest part of any project.
New For a marketing firm like M$?
The advertising is first on the list :)

New That is not useful.
"Insert crowbar. Apply force."
New It might be interesting.
But there's the whole 'Microsoft Windows' thing again. :-/

I don't think I'm in any hurry, fortunately. If Apple decide they want the market for a PDA again (an iPad perhaps?), then I would definitely consider their offering. If MS get something to market first, then I would probably consider it, too.

New Seen this?
I understand that apple owns the patents to [link|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVI6xw9Zph8|this technology]. My brother told me he read that current speculation is that's going to be the UI for OSXI, and that there's a PDA/Tablet-ish device in the works. But you know how Apple rumors are.

New That's really neat.I'm sure the big LCD makers are drooling.
New That is amazing.
That's the first time in a very long time I've seen anything truly and realistically next-generation.

Wow.

Wade.
"Insert crowbar. Apply force."
New As an animated GIF
but this was much more impressive!

The GIF's at the bottom of [link|http://hrmpf.com/wordpress/48/new-apple-patents|this page] that talks about Apple's patent.

Wanna start a pool?

New I'm in
I'll take, "Three minutes after the first LiveCD is inserted in one."

New I'd agree, but..
..will it be possible to boot from another device at all on the thing?

I say two weeks from availability.

New Yes, via USB

New Too easy to make usb 'non-bootable'
via the bios. It's not insurmountable, of course (prolly be easy) which is why I think there will be a delay.
