Joysticks compatible with Ubuntu?

I figure this is a no-brainer, but I don't want to be an idiot - any issues with using a regular USB gamepad with Ubuntu before I go and get one? Google and the Ubuntu website didn't turn up much of anything, so my guess is that it's pretty much a no brainer...
