New The most expensive hot dog in history!
Lindsey Jaccobelli during the finals of the womens snowboardcross. All the other competitors for the medal have fallen...all she has to do is cross the damn finish (not Finnish, CRC) line, and she gets the gold. Simple, right? Not for Americans. You see, we seem to have this pathological desire to fuckshow off. Which is, of course, exactly what she does...at the second to last jump, Lindsey suddently forgets she's a snowboardcross racer and thinks she's a half-pipe acrobat; she does a hotdog move, and crashes. In the time it takes for her to recover, one of the other racers who crashed earlier, passes her and wins the gold. Lindsey takes silver...

(The reference to expensive has to do with hthe fact that the USOC pays Olympic "athletes" $25000 for a gold. So her hotdog move cost her 25 G's. Slick!)

Young and stoopud!

New Added to that is the "lost" endorsements.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail ... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"
New Didn't think about that
She was already doing spots for Visa...

On the other hand, maybe she'll get a new endorsement...for Ball Park Franks....

New Endorsements are fickle
Remember, Coke pulled all the Kwan ads when she withdrew, and she (Kwan) was already a "known" name. I can't see too many new endorsement opportunities for someone stupid enough to lose the way she did. You may be right about Ball Park...

New Celebrity brings money
Doesn't matter whether the notoriety is good or bad. Just need to be famous. Now if she can get everyone talking about how it was a bonehead move, she'll reap in millions.
New She'll be the next loser on "Dancing with the Stars"

"It's never too late to be who you might have been." ~ George Eliot
New Why? Just because Jerry Rice can't stand up straight
Doesn't mean that jocks/jockettes are necessarily fumblefucks. Witness Stacy Keibler, who will win this thing....

New Lose the race, keep your rep.
I gotta go with taking the shot here. A snowboarder playing it safe is almost an oxymoron isn't it?
