New Lucent?
Visit [link|http://www.idir.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html|Linux Winmodems] and see if they have support for your Lucent chipset. A web page with a picture of Arnold J. Rimmer on it can't be all bad, now can it? :)

There is also the [link|http://linmodems.org/|Linmodems] web site to try out.

New Oops, forget it
Lucent AMR modems are not supported. D'oh! I just read that now.

New AMR modem...
...[link|http://www.modem-help.freeserve.co.uk/chips/smlhamr.html|here] but not lucent based. Worth a shot...though pmcia modems are easy to come by and cheap.

New Lucent AMR, nicknamed Scorpio by OEMs
Do a search on Scorpio drivers, maybe some OEM wrote Linux drivers for them? One can only hope.
