Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I may have found my "memory leak" in Firefox 1.5.
Redirecting to Security.

Java's usually been temperamental in Firefox or Mozilla on this machine - slow to startup, often hangs, etc...

In preparation for [link|http://news.com.com/Kama+Sutra+suffering+starts+early+for+some/2100-7349_3-6033952.html|Kama Sutra], I started a full scan of this computer. It found [link|http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/trojan.byteverify.html|Trojan.ByteVerify] almost immediately. I'll get rid of it and see if that helps.

I don't know how I got infected, or when it happened. My virus definitions update automatically and it's set to scan files on open. With luck it'll be easy to get rid of.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Probably not.
I saw that a lot at an old job - it's a "MSJava"-only virus that only affects older unpatched computers AFAIK. Shouldn't even be able to run on Sun's JVM.
When somebody asks you to trade your freedoms for security, it isn't your security they're talking about.
New Oh well. Thanks for the info!
