Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Ah, remember
The first time I tried, it completely choked.

The second time, it wouldn't see my sound card - no amount of fiddling around seemed to affect anything.

Will it work now? *chuckle* Is my next hassle going to be my nvidia card?

This was the whole reason I settled down with Mepis, remember - it's HW detection is superb...

(edit: added)
...to answer my own question, though, yes, it's time.
"This release has been somewhat delayed due to the switch to Linux 2.6.15
and the new hardware detection and activation infrastructure that comes
along with it (new udev and the demise of the old hotplug scripts"

I'm not going to get to it this weekend (going to see Spamalot!), but I'll try it in the upcoming week! (Yes, I'll try both Ubuntu and Kubuntu)

Imric's Tips for Living
  • Paranoia Is a Survival Trait
  • Pessimists are never disappointed - but sometimes, if they are very lucky, they can be pleasantly surprised...
  • Even though everyone is out to get you, it doesn't matter unless you let them win.

Nothing is as simple as it seems in the beginning,
As hopeless as it seems in the middle,
Or as finished as it seems in the end.

New Breezy does 100% on my work Dell.
It's a GX520, so it's a recent box. Hoary fumbled the sound and the video - PCI tweak in the kernal got the sound going and I found an alternate Xserver for the video, but the Breezy upgrade went perfectly.

Major Allison Digby Tatham-Warter was so absurdly British that you can't even read his name without being compelled to brew a cup of tea.
