Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Module compiles now using 3.3.6, but ...
I think I've tracked down a problem. I see lots of references via google to "xf86openserial: cannot open device" after installing Xorg instead of xf86. Basically it's not finding the mouse. I tried dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and did the mouse auto-detection. Now when I boot it tries three times to start X, then hangs on a blank screen. Can't do anything. I'm about to boot single-user mode and change my runlevel so I can at least get to a promt a log in on a tty before it hangs.

New try this:
"modprobe usbmouse" (or a couple of other mouse related modules)

I've seen this problem myself. I actually had to modify... err something (I'll check on that)

It seems to revert periodically when a new version of (don't know what) something returns it automagically.

You can manually load them after the notice... and then restart gdm and try again.

New Was just about to do this, then I remembered
This isn't a usb mouse. It's an actual PS/2 Intellimouse.

New One of the mouse modules are missing then.
Or don't use /dev/input/mice use /dev/psaux

See if that takes care of it.

BTW, the new versions of Gutenprint (formerly Gimp-Print) now completely support the Epson Printers... there is even an Epson supplied driver and ppd to use now *IN* debian.

So, no longer do you have to use Windows as a printer driver.
