Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Personal exercise in entertainment
was what I was talking about.

I don't share your attitudes about repositories and Monticello is the best version control system I've ever used.

But I don't really care what you want to use, I wanted to take a shot at doing a clone of some subset of features and comparing code size/difficulty.

Besides, not to bitch about the (begin bow of deference)verifiably correct xhtml(end bow) UI, but this place could use a little prettying up. :-P

Would also be fun for scalability metrics for seaside (we've secretly replace the forum software with Smalltalk for x% of users - lets see if they can tell the difference).]

Incidentally, I saw a demo of a cool seaside app over the weekend. [link|http://www.dabbledb.com|http://www.dabbledb.com] - think web based filemaker-style (simple, no sql) databases.

New It's all good.
Like I said, I'm just being crotchety.

About the UI: uh, yes. The new one looks much better IMO. I thought I had posted a screenshot somewhere, but I can't find it now. Keep in mind, though, that this thing has to run on everything from Lynx to OS/2 to GodKnowsWhat.

New Then Seaside would be ideal
since Squeak most certainly runs on all of those.

Err - unless you mean specifically the UI only, at which point I say I'm sick of page oriented UI, ajax UI is here, its getting better defined all the time, and if your browser can't cope with the new UI, well, maybe we'll just give you a CLI and some lovely ascii art so as not to frighten you with rapidly changing pixels.

New Er, no, that's the UI
And while you may not care about the users' preferences, I do.

That's not to say there won't be an enhanced UI for browsers that are capable of it, just that I'm not going to exclude people who run other stuff.
