Most of the U.S. supply is made here in Los Angeles, but I doubt large producers like Cosmo bury it in the ground. The kind of volume consumed in LA county alone calls for large stainless steel vats such as are used for fermenting beer. My own consumption isn't that great, no more than a couple gallons a year - but then I'm not Korean.
