Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Not fond of it either.
I want to know why, when I run the damned thing over a network connection, every icon is identical - a document.

It's crap.

Imric's Tips for Living
  • Paranoia Is a Survival Trait
  • Pessimists are never disappointed - but sometimes, if they are very lucky, they can be pleasantly surprised...
  • Even though everyone is out to get you, it doesn't matter unless you let them win.

Nothing is as simple as it seems in the beginning,
As hopeless as it seems in the middle,
Or as finished as it seems in the end.

New Oh come on, everything's a thing, don't you know?
You shouldn't have to worry your pretty little head over what kind of thing. Leave that to the smart computer guys to figure out. All you need to know is that there is a thing somewhere that you can open.

New Thats a 3rd
Nautilus sucks. Gnome is quickly approaching major suckage.

Don't use it anymore. Too heavy..and too hard to configure away the weight. XFCE is light, configurable...and only have to add the weight of the major desktop libraries to run programs that depend on them.

New I hates the Nautilusss.
Especially since they did the whole stupid spatial window-per-folder thing. I want the tree view back. And yes, I know I can go find some obscure, buried setting in gconf, but for something that fundamental doncha think they could have put a checkbox in the main preferences? As bloated and slow as Nautilus is, I really can't be arsed to track down a setting for something I hate to use, just to make it barely usable.

New They have the Tree view back.
Its an option now to use "browse mode" always.

gtweakui-nautilus from the "gtweakui" package

that'll do.

New OMFG ... they stole a package name from Windows
Is there any clearer sign that something's going the wrong direction than having to copy the idea of TweakUI from Windows-land?
