why are you jumping all over my ass today?
Why are my religious beliefs paramount all of the sudden? Who gives a rats ass?
I dont have to defend my faith or lack there-of. It changes over time as my attitudes and philosophy change.
And I do like the comfort of Mass- because it connects me to my past and my family-not because I identify with the religion. I have forgone that comfort to accomodate my changing beliefs, not that it's really any of your business.
You say I sent my kids to day care to get R&R? What fucking R&R? I was WORKING. A job. To support my family. I was employed up until mid August, if you recall. Sue me for being creative and finding daycare I could afford on a single parent income. There was not a damn thing wrong about having them learn about different religions. Just because religion is not right for me at this time in my life, doesnt mean it's bad for them. There's nothing wrong with arming my kids with information so they can make an informed decision when the time comes.
Fire and Brimestone at vacation bible school? Try cookies and crafts and learning about sharing and being kind to one another. My God. What a terrible thing!
Go eat some protein and be off to the gym. I have a garage to paint. And then perhaps I'll send the kids off to the local Satanic cult so I can plant myself on the couch and paint my toenails.
You have throughly pissed me off today.

I merely pointed out what I thought were minor inconsistencies on your speech / vs / action.
I know I'm FULL of them. I accept it and move on.
I have no faith in my religion yet I joined a synagogue and sent my kids to religious and Hebrew school because I wanted to imprint the cultural identity on them. When they decided (at age 12, as the bar/bat mizvah was approaching) they were done, fine with me. I often had discussions with Ben about how he thought the teacher was full of shit, and that I agreed with him but he was not allowed to debate with her.
I know you were stressed, yes you deserve some downtime, yes you are having financial difficulties. I actually thought of all that when typing, and did not mention it, because I felt it would be condencending.
That wasn't an attack, that was a MILDLY spirited discussion.
You would KNOW I was attacking you if I was. Just review some interaction with Greg. I could have reviewed a years worth of posting, and weaved a thread of hyprocrisy (even if it wasn't there, I'd manage to create it), setup some staw men, burn them down, leaving you SO pissed you would have smashed your keyboard against your computer and called more my head (amongst other body parts).
And then Ben would have swooped in and tried to calm everyone down.
And then you'd turn your wrath on him because he got in the middle.
Go paint, I'll go swim.
And when you show up at BeeP's, I'll buy you a beer.

It's a balance
There is a huge amount of work on the side of the kid to prep for the bar mitzvah. They simply decided it was not worth it. They get what they need / want out of me anyway, so why bother?
On the other hand, since it is all a fraud from my perspective, I certainly was not going to force them to go through with it.
