New Turning off that rotten SmarterThanThou Start menu fiddling
I don't WANT Windows to decide which programs to show in the Start Menu...

Any way to turn that one off too? :-)

I didn't see it on the site with the registry hacks...
Regards,

-scott anderson
New Easy enough...
Windows 2000: Right-click on the task bar (NOT the start menu), select "properties", and UNCHECK "Use personalized menus" or some such.

Windows XP: Right click on the start button, select Properties, uncheck "Use custom menus."

I think it's the same for 98SE and ME, but I could be wrong.

New Ah... I see...
The almost, but not quite, entirely nondescriptive of the functionality setting... They aren't personalized, they're Windows-ized. :-P

Thanks. :-)

New 98-lite folk planning some W2K dejunking
but they are enroute back to Oz, currently.

So far my (and another) 98-lite continues to be invisible, make things faster and ~0 crashes save for POS NS 4.5's very occasional.. mind-loss. Haven't had to reload a sys file even.

Dunno what they plan for W2K, but I like knowing they are out there buffering out the BS where possible. Best $25 spent yet, for a reg. version.
